Would you like to try making a silver leaf pendant? This morning taster session introduces basic traditional silver jewellery making techniques. The class is perfect for beginners with little or no jewellery making experience.
Over the 3 hours you will use a range of tools and techniques to complete your piece. You will cut out your shapes from silver sheet with a piercing saw, use a rolling mill to assist with texturing process and solder silver using a jeweller’s torch.
It’s a very friendly and relaxed workshop and this is a great introduction to making silver jewellery. Our taster classes are an ideal way to try something new and see if you enjoy it, we’re sure you will!
This beginner taster class is a half day morning class running for 3 hours starting at 10am.

Cost includes silver for making the leaf, optional chain sold separately if required. Silver chain can be purchased from the school on the day of your class.
This course is suitable for beginners. No previous experience making jewellery is necessary to enrol on this course.
All students attending classes or workshops at Kingham Jewellery School must be 16 or over, unless otherwise stated in the course information.
As a student you are responsible for your own safety in the workshop. Please listen to directions to ensure you know how to use all the equipment correctly. To ensure your safety do not operate equipment you do not know how to use. Please ensure you have covered footwear and no high heels. You will need to tie back long hair when using motorised equipment. Please respect others and don’t interrupt students who are soldering, using the drill or any other equipment that could create a safety concern if the operator is distracted.
