Wax Carving Workshop

In this one day class students are introduced to traditional techniques in wax carving.

As an introduction to lost wax casting we start the day with a presentation on the fundamentals of the process.

Students are taught the differences between the range of carving tools then learn how to carve, shape and finish to produce a piece of jewellery ready for casting into metal.

Through demonstration you will learn how to make a simple ring and pendant, this will give students the foundation to develop and design their own lost wax piece.

Please note - Although we teach the principles of lost wax casting we will not be casting on this course. Once you have completed the course you will take home a wax model suitable for casting.

Sundries such as saw blades and carving wax are included in the price. If you want your wax cast into metal this will be at an extra cost.

Suitable for all ability levels.

We take half an hour for lunch around 1pm, packed lunches are advised and can be eaten at the studio. Tea and coffee provided throughout the day.
